Murfatlar
Murfatlar Cave complex is a medieval Bulgarian monastery that operated in the 9th - 11th century. It was discovered accidentally in 1957 during chock mining operations. On the walls of 6 churches, crypts, and corridors were incised animal and human figures, crosses and hundreds of Runiform, Cyrillic, Greek and Glagolitic inscriptions. The majority of inscriptions are written with the so-called Murfatlar alphabet known so far only from Murfatlar. The images and Runiform inscriptions from the site are an example of a mixture of Pagan and Cristian cultural traditions.
